Delta VFD

Pictured here is a Delta VFD, Mdl. VFD007S21A (Variable Frequency
Drive). I installed it on my mill to run its three phase motor from
single phase supply. It gives me a few advantages:
- Quiet
- Saves energy
- Controlled acceleration, no startup current issue
- No wear like on bearings of a phase converter
- Variable speed
- Quick deceleration (very nice! improves productivity!)
- Ability to reverse, including power reverse
- Motor protection (overload)
